John was born in Waterloo, IA and spent his childhood years in Iowa and Illinois, graduating from Rock Island High School. John earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and his Executive MBA from the University of Iowa. He is currently working on his Masters of Christian Studies through Denver Seminary. Having the blessing of a Godly heritage going back over three generations on both sides of his family, John accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of five and later publically proclaimed his faith through baptism during Jr. High.
While in college, John began his career with Deere & Company where he spent 34 years moving and travelling around the world in the areas of Accounting and Finance. In June 2007, God allowed John to take early retirement from Deere and answer God’s call to full-time vocational ministry serving as Associate Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel-Davenport.
In his role as Associate Pastor, John has a passion for equipping, mentoring and encouraging others in their walk with Christ, desiring, as with the Apostle Paul, that all in the church body are fully equipped for the work of ministry and that all grow to full maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
John and his wife Jamy live in Bettendorf. Their daughter Jennifer serves as a missionary currently based in Herrnhut, Germany, while their son Jack, daughter-in-law Becky and grand-daughter Isabelle currently reside in St. Paul, MN.
